Jesús Carmona is the most important Flamenco Dancer at the current dance scene.
Jesús was recently awarded with some of the most important awards in the dance culture: Benois de la Danse Award 2021. Spanish National Dance Award 2020. Two MAX awards 2022 of the Spanish Scenic Arts to the Best Male Performer and to the Best Dance Show for “Dance of Beasts”. He was part of the dance companies El Güito, Nuevo Ballet Español and Antonio Canales among others. In 2006, he got into the Spanish National Ballet where he reached the category of first dancer. He later on funded his own company (Compañía de Danza Jesús Carmona), launching “Cuna Negra y Blanca”, “7 Balcones”, “Impetuʼs”, “Equilibrio” (Balance), “Amatør”, “El Salto” (The Jump) and “Baile de Bestias” (Dance of Beasts). Alongside with the renowned Spanish musician and artist Nacho Cano, he is the choreographer of the musical “Malinche”, where he also casts as one of the lead roles.
Hailed as “A fenomenom of the flamenco world” by the New York Times, Carmona has danced on stages of more than 40 countries.
He has recently been appointed first Artistic Director of the recently created Ballet Español de la Comunidad de Madrid.
